The Granary is a beautiful, newly refurbished holiday home surrounded by open fields, hidden away in the Vale of Pickering, North Yorkshire.
A single storey, spacious, one-bedroom house created from the old stables of the adjacent farmhouse, it is the perfect romantic retreat with stunning views. Tastefully converted in 2016 to a very high standard, with a private garden, The Granary is set in a peaceful patchwork of farmland and adjoins the main house at the very end of our property to ensure it retains its privacy.
Just a few miles from the bustling market towns of Malton and Pickering, this gorgeous bolthole is nestled between the Howardian Hills and the North York Moors. It also has easy access to the historic city of York and is only 40 minutes from the beautiful North East coast.
With a wood-burning stove for cosy winter evenings, a super-king sized bed, Egyptian cotton sheets, White Company bath towels, fresh flowers and free Wifi, our cottage is full of character and luxurious extras.
Our location is perfect for relaxing weekends, walking holidays or for a culture-filled experience with excellent restaurants and places to visit nearby – to include a local pub serving delicious food within walking distance!

"Far more beautiful than the photos, I couldn't take my eyes off the view. Particularly enjoyed watching the baby owls in the owl box tree as the sun was setting. Got the feeling that Kate and James would do anything to make our stay more enjoyable. Very tastefully decorated and would definitely recommend. Oh, and a great local pub too!"

Can't Wait To Come Back
"We LOVED our weekend at The Granary. We really didn't want to leave. The location is so lovely to wake up to and your directions made it very easy to find. The cottage is beautiful and absolutely immaculate. We didn't want for anything while we were there. It was very well equipped, the towels were gorgeous and the bed was like a giant marshmallow. We wished it would have been cold enough to use the log burner... definitely next time. We cannot wait to come back, hopefully some time later in the year."

Exceptionally high standard
"This cottage is set in a beautiful location over looking open fields. We have stayed at many cottages in the past and this one is the best by far. Everything in the property is finished to an exceptionally high standard with no expense spared. Even little touches are thought about such as milk in the fridge and fresh towels laid out. The owners, James and Kate are very welcoming and happy to help with anything you may need. The bed is to die for, super king size and extremely comfortable, we could have stayed in it all day. Lots of things to do in the area too, such as Eden camp, Flamingo Land, Castle Howard and a short drive to York, Malton and Scarborough. We will definitely be returning in the winter months to make full use of the gorgeous log fire. "
